The Grand Staircase
The grand staircase is one of The Olana's most recognizable interior locations. Its symmetry, architecture and scale make it perfect for elegant wedding portraits, especially when we want the venue itself to become part of the photograph.
Because it's such a recognizable location, we look for ways to make it feel different through lighting, composition and posing rather than simply recreating the same staircase photograph for every couple.
The Curved Balcony & Interior Architecture
The curved balcony and surrounding interiors give us opportunities to use The Olana's architecture in completely different ways.
We love working with the railings, windows, rooms and architectural lines to create depth, frame our couples and find perspectives that may not be obvious at first glance.

Whenever possible, we also recommend leaving a little flexibility around sunset. Texas light can change quickly, and sometimes an unexpected sky gives us an opportunity to create something incredible.
And if the weather changes the original plan, The Olana gives us plenty of beautiful indoor options. Knowing the property allows us to adapt without making the photography feel like a backup plan.
