Lacey & Trey’s Fort Worth Stockyards Engagement Photos

The laughing photograph says a lot about Lacey and Trey.

Walking hand in hand outside Hotel Drover, both smiling, they bring the same personality that runs through their entire engagement gallery. We photographed their session at the Fort Worth Stockyards on September 30, 2025, combining recognizable Fort Worth settings with portraits beside the water and surrounded by greenery.

The location gave us plenty to work with. Their expressions gave the photographs something personal.

From warm wood and strong architectural lines to softer garden portraits, we wanted the finished collection to offer different ways of remembering this chapter together.

Laughter That Connects the Gallery

Lacey and Trey like to smile and have a good time. That came through throughout their session.

There are quieter portraits where they’re turned toward each other, wider photographs that include the setting, and the walking photograph where both are laughing. Seeing those images together gives the gallery its range.

The laughing portrait is especially useful because it brings their personalities forward immediately. You notice them before you start studying the building behind them.

That matters to us. We want the location to contribute to the photograph while leaving room for the people who make it meaningful.

Blue Outfits Against the Stockyards’ Warm Backgrounds

We sent Lacey and Trey our clothing guide before their engagement session.

The Stockyards has a lot of warm color: weathered wood, brick, and brown architectural details. Their blue palette works beautifully against those surroundings.

Lacey’s blue patterned dress connects with the denim, while Trey’s light shirt gives the pair a coordinated look with different tones and textures. The combination carries across the wooden backgrounds, the Hotel Drover exterior, and the greener portraits.

If you’re choosing what to wear for Stockyards engagement photos, look at your clothing ideas alongside photographs of the setting. Consider how the colors will appear against the backgrounds, and choose clothes you can comfortably move in.

The finished photograph includes both your outfit and everything around it. Planning them together helps.

Familiar Fort Worth Views, Fresh Attention

The Stockyards sign gives one portrait an immediate sense of place. The exterior of Hotel Drover gives another its architectural setting.

Those recognizable views belong in this gallery alongside the smaller details.

We photograph familiar locations regularly, and we keep looking for different ways to use them. Each couple deserves attention to what works for them rather than an automatic repeat of a previous session.

In Lacey and Trey’s photographs, that variety appears in the compositions themselves. A covered wooden passage creates a strong frame around a full-length portrait. A seated photograph uses a tilted angle against weathered wood. Other images bring the camera closer or let the surroundings take up more space.

Together, those decisions give the couple a broader selection of finished photographs.

Water, Leaves, and Cactus Change the Feeling

The portraits beside the water bring a different atmosphere to the collection.

In one photograph, Lacey and Trey face each other on the rocks. A wider portrait includes more of the trees, water, and stone around them. These images give the gallery room to slow down after the recognizable buildings and streets.

The garden photographs add another kind of variety.

Soft leaves cross the upper foreground in one portrait. In another, blurred cactus sits close to the camera while the couple stands farther into the frame. A closer cactus portrait brings more attention back to their expressions.

These photographs show how much the frame can change through distance, angle, and what sits between the camera and the couple.

For couples planning outdoor engagement photos, that’s a useful idea to keep in mind: a location’s smaller features can contribute just as much as its most familiar view.

What Crowds Mean for a Stockyards Engagement Session

Crowds were the biggest challenge during Lacey and Trey’s engagement session.

The Stockyards is an active destination, and the backgrounds available to us depend on what is happening around them. Timing matters, but so does flexibility once we arrive.

My advice is to choose this location because you like its overall character. If you love the Western setting, rustic textures, and recognizable Fort Worth views, we have a clear direction to work toward.

Then we can discuss the photographs that matter most to you while leaving room for another background or composition when an area is busy.

Before a future session, check the official Stockyards event calendar and confirm current photography permission for the specific areas being considered. The Stockyards’ current Code of Conduct requires prior written permission for commercial photography or filming. Hotel Drover also maintains its own photography and filming policy.

Those details belong in the planning conversation alongside light, clothing, and the photographs you hope to bring home.

From Their Engagement Session to Their Wedding

Lacey and Trey married on October 18, 2026, at Bella Cavalli Events in Aubrey, Texas.

These photographs document the engagement chapter that came before their wedding: the Stockyards setting, their blue outfits, and the laughter that connects the collection.

Returning to the gallery, that walking photograph still stands out. There’s a recognizable building behind them, but their expressions are what keep your attention.
