FINDING THE BEST MAKEUP

ARTIST FOR YOUR WEDDING

" I WANT TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL  "

Wow! Finding a Makeup Artist could be tough. Where to start? Who should I ask for some recommendations? Someone I can trust?

Also, how I am going to look in my wedding photos? or how many makeup artists I need to hire for my bridal party? Will my make-up last the whole night? I think there is a lot of question. So here there are some great tips from a professional in this field.

5 TIPS TO FINDING THE RIGHT MAKEUP ARTIST FOR YOUR WEDDING

#1: Bridal Makeup Style

One of the most important things when hiring a wedding makeup artist is their style. Makeup is an art form and each artist will have a different style. Explore Pinterest & Instagram to find the perfect makeup look or style that fits you and your dream wedding look. In the end, this makeup look will forever be in your wedding photos. Timeless not trendy is something to keep in mind!

#2. Find your Makeup Artist

Once you find the "got to have it" makeup style, you need to find an artist that fits your style. Remember not all artists can achieve the same look/style so make sure to do your research! Look up makeup artists in major cities near your wedding venue on Instagram, Google, Wedding Wire, and the Knot. Look through their portfolios and read reviews. Once you have found the perfect makeup artist for you reach out to make sure they have your date available.

#3: Pricing

A major step is to determine your budget for beauty. Once you have a price range in mind you can better narrow down the artist that not only fits within your budget but also your style. Try not pick a makeup artist solely based only on pricing. Your wedding makeup artist is an investment and is totally worth it for your big day.

#4: Ask Questions

Now that you know you love this makeup artist and have received a quote make sure to ask key questions to make sure that they are a great fit for your wedding.

-What does their pricing include? (if they do not already state this in their quote) Each artist may include or charge extra for certain things. For instance, I do not charge extra for lashes or for airbrushes!

- How long does each makeup application take? It is important to know how many of your bridal party are going to want their makeup done, timing that you have at your venue, and what time everyone has to be ready by for photos. If your artist is a solo makeup artist like myself, they may need to bring on a second makeup artist to accommodate.

- How many weddings per day does the artist take on in one day? This is extremely important because it may determine what time you will have to get your makeup done if they take on more than one wedding a day. I only take on one wedding a day!

#5: Trial run or Book

Ok, you have officially found the perfect artist! Now it is time to book your artist or schedule a trial run. A trial run is a great way to make sure they can create the look you want and that you vibe with their personality. This artist is going to be with you for a long period of time on your wedding day and you want someone that meshes with your personality. Keep in mind you do not have to do a trial before booking. 80% of my brides end up booking me without a trial run first and save their trial for a little closer to their wedding date.  They book based on reviews, portfolios, and before and after pictures.

I hope this information helps you make the best decision on finding the perfect makeup artist for you and your epic wedding!
