" I WANT TO PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR "

I know you want to keep everyone at your wedding happy and engaged with all the activities right?

Is only 3 or 4 hours of reception and they have to be AWESOME !! Please READ the important of having a PROFESSIONAL in charge of your PARTY.

We have been doing weddings for over 7 years now, and I can tell you the difference between having a professional DJ and someone with no experience in weddings, we see it reflected on photos, believe me !!  At the end it comes to the same question... How do you want to remember the most important day in your life?

When hosting an event, rightfully so, most people think, "I need music" for my wedding/birthday party/corporate event/etc.  While reading the crowd and spinning great music are essential, weddings, like highly specialized birthdays (e.g. Mitzvahs) or Corporate Award Banquets, generally require more than just great music.  Here are some things to consider when hiring a DJ.  There's a long list of typical recommendations so I'll try to cover this from a slightly different angle.

PERSONALITY

The most "accessible" person at most events is the DJ.  When the lights in the room flicker, who does everyone look to?  Therefore, what type of personality, appearance, confidence, and competence does he/she have when engaging a room?  A true professional has a unique combination of those traits that he/she has continually worked on and has a track record to prove it.

ADAPTABILITY

While many DJs are hired on "style" (e.g. "I like the way he played and what he did at my cousin's wedding), every event is unique.  Your DJ, as a Master of Ceremonies, is ultimately a representation of you, your family, and your friends.  Imagine a NBA announcer at a sentimental wedding then imagine a loving and sweet DJ at the Olympics!  Surprisingly, a true professional has range, will learn about you, and will skillfully craft an ambiance perfect for you.

RELATIONSHIP

While many hosts focus on the logistics and details right up to "go time", more time could be spent thinking about how your event is going to be.  Trust your gut when hiring a DJ.  Really liking and getting along with your DJ will facilitate getting to know each other and, ultimately, your preferences.  With the time invested, the relationship built, you can trust and rest assured that your DJ will ensure to execute a perfect night for you, his friends!

SERVICE

While most people enjoy kudos (praise, honor, and acknowledgment), entertainers tend to like it more.  Is your DJ focused on you, your event, and the team he/she will work with?  A true professional not only will focus on you, but also will ensure that every vendor is doing their best job for you.  You will find the sum is greater than the parts!

DUE DILIGENCE

When hiring a DJ, interviews (preferably in person that'll provide insight into his/her true role), reviews, and references are all important parts that should not be skipped.  Best wishes on an amazing day!
