Josh and I first connected through a dating app called Plenty of Fish. And believe me, there we schools of them. But he stood out, he took the time to read my profile and sent me a message. I was excited and nervous. After a couple of weeks, and attempts on his part, we finally met. We met at a Starbucks near my work, where my manager/friend/maid of honor arrived after she too got off. The two of them seem to really hit it off. In fact, I was worried that he would be drawn to her more than me! Toward the end, my friend made a comment that we should kiss. I look at her mortified and reminded her that this was our first date. It wasn’t long after this, we went on our first one-on-one date. He took me shooting! I was born in raised in Texas and I had never even held, let alone shot a gun. It was a lot of fun, and I have been hooked ever since.
When he proposed, I didn’t see it coming and I had been anxious for this day, as patience is a virtue I lack. It was Valentine’s Day (I love korny things like this by the way), and he told me he was just going to come over and spend the day with me watching T.V. When he arrived, he asked me to come outside where he gave me roses & chocolates, and continued to say that he hadn’t asked for anything because he had already gotten what he wanted. He opened the door to his back seat and there it was….A GUITAR BOX! My heart plummeted. He was so excited and kept telling me to look at it, which was the last thing I wanted to do. Finally, I conceded and opened the box, thinking it was awfully light and that the box looked a little familiar. Once I got the lid off, there it was…FOR REAL! In the back of the box, nestled into its’ box was the most beautiful ring I had ever laid eyes on. Needless to say, I cried, there was no question, there was no answer, just lots of happy tears and hugs. The rest, as they say, is history.
